The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) has a new program that
will send estimated water bills down the drain!
DWSD is updating every city water meter with new technology which will eliminate estimated bills. The installation program began in the fall of 2007 and will continue until all 275,000 Detroit residences are equipped with automated water meters.

A Detroit Water AMR technician makes his rounds on the east side of Detroit
installing new water meter equipment. Every home in Detroit will be upgraded with
new meter technology at no cost to DWSD customers.

A $30 meter reading fee will be charged to your account each time DWSD attempts
to read your meter if the AMR equipment is not installed. Avoid unwanted fees and
get your meter installed today!
